Legacy theses, dissertations, and faculty archives into the institutional repository.
Decades of theses, dissertations, and grey literature converted into discoverable, DOI-assigned, repository-ready records — built around DSpace, Vireo, or the platform you already run.
Most universities sit on tens of thousands of pre-digital theses that exist only as bound copies on a shelf. Faculty searches, citation counts, and accreditation reviews all pass over them silently. Digitising a backlog is a one-time effort that turns a dormant scholarly archive into a live citation surface — with DOIs, ORCID author IDs, and proper rights metadata so the work actually shows up in Google Scholar and ProQuest.
I
Step 01
We audit the legacy backlog with the Graduate School, identify rights status per cohort, and run author-consent outreach where embargo decisions are needed.
II
Step 02
Bound theses on book cradles, loose-leaf on sheet-fed, OCR tuned to dense academic typography including formulae, footnotes, and citations.
III
Step 03
ETD-MS records, authority-controlled author headings, subject classification, and DOI assignment for every item with a permanent landing page.
IV
Step 04
Pushed straight into DSpace via SWORD or batch CSV, with optional ProQuest UMI ingestion in parallel.
If yours is not here, write to us — the practice lead will reply directly.
Talk to usAnything that benefits from real editorial, engineering, or accessibility rigour. Most of our work falls into one of four practices — Book Publishing, Digitalization, Accessibility Solutions, or LLM Consulting — but the same studio runs all of it, so combined briefs (a textbook plus accessible companion EPUB, an archive plus an LLM retrieval layer over it) are common.
Specialists, not generalists. An editor does the editing; an OCR engineer tunes the extraction pipeline; an accessibility auditor signs off WCAG. You get one named project lead, weekly demos, and a written brief that prevents almost every horror story you have heard about creative projects.
We are a Chennai studio with 80+ partner relationships worldwide. Most projects run fully remote, with kickoff and review calls scheduled across time zones. We have shipped work into the US, UK, EU, ANZ, and Southeast Asia.
It depends entirely on scope — a single cover design and an 800-page reference textbook sit at very different ends. After a 30-minute discovery call we send a written brief with a clear, itemised quote. No retainers required, no surprise invoices.
